You will need to use the containers to measure out your portions, and you will also need to follow a specific eating plan. The good news is that the eating plan is very flexible, and you can customize it to suit your own tastes and preferences.

What is the 2B Mindset?

The Different Beachbody Containers

Green



The green container is for vegetables. The size of the green container is 1 cup or the equivalent of a tennis ball. The following are examples of what can fit in a Green container:
-1⁄2 cup cooked rice
-1 cup cooked pasta
-11⁄2 cups cooked quinoa
-1 cup raw spinach
-1 cup diced tomatoes


Purple


The Beachbody portion control containers are plastic food storage containers that have been designed to help you measure and track the foods you’re eating. There are 7 different colored containers, each representing a different food group. The purple container is for fruits, and is the largest of all the containers. This is because fruits are made up mostly of water, and they are a good source of fiber and vitamins. You can have up to 2 Purple containers per day.


Red


Red – This is for proteins and starches. An example of a food that would fit into this category would be grilled chicken, brown rice, quinoa, sweet potato, etc.
Green – These are your veggies. So things like kale, broccoli, spinach, asparagus would all go here.
Purple – This is for fruits. So things like grapes, blueberries, strawberries, basically anything that’s not citrus fruit.
Yellow – This is for carbs and fats. So things like whole grain breads or pastas, avocado, nuts and seeds would all go here.
Blue – This is for healthy fats and cheeses. An example of something that would go into this category would be hummus or guacamole.
Orange – This is for oils and butters. So things like olive oil or coconut oil would go here.


Yellow


The yellow container is for starchy vegetables and fats. This would include things like legumes, grains, and pastas. A single serving in the yellow container is 1/2 cup (124 grams) of cooked rice, quinoa, or pasta; 1 medium potato; or 3/4 cup (177 grams) of corn. A few examples of starchy vegetables you might find in the yellow container are:
-corn
-peas
-plantains
-parsnips
-butternut squash
-yams

Fats are an important part of a healthy diet and should not be avoided. Healthy fats help you feel full and can assist with weight loss. A single serving in the yellow container is 1 tablespoon (14 grams) of olive oil, avocado, or nuts/seeds; 2 tablespoons (28 grams) of nut butter; or 1/4 cup (30 grams) of olives. A few examples of healthy fats you might find in the yellow container are:
-avocados
-coconut oil
-olive oil
-nuts
-nut butter


Blue


The blue Beachbody container is meant for produce and starches. This includes fruits, vegetables, whole grains, quinoa, rice, sweet potatoes, and beans.You can pretty much fill this container with any type of produce you want. Just remember to measure it before cooking. A good rule of thumb is that one cup of raw veggies or fruit is equivalent to one blue container.


Orange


The Orange container is meant for carbohydrates that are dense, such as starchy vegetables and grains. These carbohydrates will be your body’s main source of energy and are essential for fueling your workouts. Some examples of foods that would fit into the Orange container are sweet potatoes, corn, quinoa, whole wheat pasta, and brown rice.


How to Use the Containers


Here is a quick guide on the proper way to use the containers. The first thing you need to do is make sure that the containers are clean. You can do this by washing them in warm, soapy water. Make sure that you rinse the containers thoroughly and allow them to air dry.


Fill Them Up!

And if you want to mix and match foods from different food groups, that’s totally fine—just be mindful of the calorie counts.
