First, you’ll need to create a Google Analytics account. To do this, visit https://analytics.google.com and click “Sign up for free.” You’ll be prompted to enter your email address and create a password. Once you’ve done this, you’ll be taken to the next page where you’ll need to fill out some basic information about your website.
Enter your website name and URL, then select your industry category and time zone. Once you’ve done this, click “Get Tracking ID.” You’ll be taken to the Google Analytics Terms of Service page where you can review the terms and conditions. If you agree to them, check the box at the bottom of the page and click “I Agree.”
You’ll now be taken to your Google Analytics dashboard. This is where you can see all of the data that Google Analytics collects about your website traffic. In order to collect this data, you need to add a piece of code called the “tracking code” to your website. The tracking code is a small snippet of JavaScript that needs to be added to every page on your website in order for Google Analytics to track it.
There are two ways to add the tracking code to your website: manually or using a plugin. If you want to add the code manually, you can find it under Admin > Property > Tracking Info > Tracking Code. Copy and paste the code into the section of every page on your website. If you use WordPress, there are several plugins that will automatically add the tracking code for you, such as Analytify or GA Google Analytics."


Install and configure an SEO plugin (wordpress)


Adding an SEO plugin to your WordPress site is a great way to improve your site’s search engine optimization. There are many SEO plugins available, but we recommend using Yoast SEO. Yoast SEO is a popular and well-supported plugin that helps you to configure your site for better search engine visibility.
To install the Yoast SEO plugin:

  1. Go to the Plugins page in your WordPress Dashboard and click the Add New button.
  2. In the Search Plugins field, type “Yoast SEO” and press Enter.

Find and fix multiple H1 tags


One of the most common SEO issues that we see isMultiple H1 tags on a page. This can be a result of poor coding, incorrect usage of header tags, or simply not knowing any better. Whatever the case may be, it's a problem that needs to be fixed.
Here's why:
The point of using H1 tags is to denote sections of content on your page. They help both users and search engines understand the structure of your page and the hierarchy of your content. Having multiple H1 tags essentially muddies up this process and can confuse both users and search engines.
In addition, using multiple H1 tags can have a negative impact on your SEO. Google has stated that they use header tags as a ranking factor, so it's important to make sure you're using them correctly. Incorrect usage can result in lower search engine rankings.
So how do you fix this issue?
The first step is to identify all the H1 tags on your page. You can do this by looking at the code or using an SEO tool like Screaming Frog. Once you've found all the H1 tags, take a look at the content within each section and decide if it warrants its own H1 tag. If not, remove the extra H1 tag and consolidate the content under one heading.
And that's it! By following these steps, you can fix your multiple H1 problem and improve your SEO at the same time.


Off-Page SEO

In order to build links effectively, you need to first analyze your competitor's link profile. This will give you an idea of which websites are linking to them and why. Once you have this information, you can reach out to these websites and attempt to get a link from them as well.


Conduct a link intersect analysis


In order to find out which domain has more links pointed towards it, we need to do a link intersect analysis. This will tell us how many unique websites are linking to both Plant Guru and Doterra. This number will give us a good indication of which website has more authority on the web.
To do this analysis, we need to use a tool like Majestic or Moz Link Explorer.
Majestic

  • Enter "Plant Guru" into the Site Explorer search bar and hit enter
  • Enter "Doterra" into the Site Explorer search bar and hit enter
  • Click on the "Compare Sites" feature
  • Select "Link Intersect" from the dropdown menu
  • Select "All Links" from the second dropdown menu
  • The results will show you how many unique websites are linking to both Plant Guru and Doterra. In this case, Plant Guru has 562 linking root domains while Doterra has 919 linking root domains. This means that Doterra has more authority on the web than Plant Guru.

Moz Link Explorer

  • Enter "Plant Guru" into the search bar and hit enter
  • Enter "Doterra" into the search bar and hit enter
  • Click on the "Compare Sites" feature
  • Select "Link Intersect" from the dropdown menu
  • The results will show you how many unique websites are linking to both Plant Guru and Doterra. In this case, Plant Guru has 497 linking root domains while Doterra has 849 linking root domains. This means that Doterra has more authority on the web than Plant Guru.


Target your competitors' broken backlinks


One of the most effective ways to improve your off-page SEO is to find and fix your competitors' broken backlinks.
A backlink is simply a link from one website to another. However, not all backlinks are created equal. Google looks at backlinks as a vote of confidence—the more backlinks a website has, the more Google believes that website is an authority on its topic.
However, if a website has too many low-quality backlinks, it can actually do more harm than good. That's why it's important to carefully curate your backlinks, and to disavow any that are low quality or spammy.
To find your competitors' broken backlinks, you can use a tool like Ahrefs or Majestic. Simply enter your competitor's URL into the tool, and it will show you all of the websites that are linking to them.
Then, you can use a tool like Screaming Frog to crawl those websites and look for 404 errors (pages that no longer exist). When you find 404 errors, that means the website has removed its link to your competitor—but their link is still live on other websites!
Reach out to the webmasters of those websites and let them know about the broken link. Then, offer them a replacement link—preferably to one of your own websites! This is an easy way to build high-quality backlinks, and it can also help improve your search engine rankings.
